This painting with evening blues and purples covering the rich mountain greens like a soft blanket of smoke is the backdrop for my painting dedicated to those who love the mountains. The bear is our fiercest and most powerful animal in North America. Everything wild in nature stirs our souls deeply. They are truly symbolic of that which the presence of God commands and subdues. And we also may command our lower nature to be subservient to our highest nature within us where the spirit of God resides. Jesus looks up into the open heavens in unbroken communion with our Father. The bottom of his robe is translucent representing the spirit domain from which he descended to live among us as a friend, teacher, and servant. The solitary home hidden in the vast mountains is the shelter given each of us and if we keep our lives and homes welcome to our Heavenly Father, He will surely visit us at the appointed time.
