All double matted prints will fit into frames of their listed size
For example;
The 16 x 20 is a double matted 12” x 16” image which fits into a 16”x20” frame.
The 11 x 14 is a double matted 7.25” x 9.25” image which fits into an 11”x14” frame.
The 8 x 10 is a double matted 5” x 7” image which fits into a 8”x10” frame.
The mat colors have been selected by the artist. They change on occasion but are designed to be somewhat neutral so they will accent the art and look good with virtually every frame. If you want specific mat colors please buy the print unmatted.
About Giclees (pronounced: Zhee-clay)
All of the Giclee prints are sold unmatted and unframed. Their listed size is the correct image size.
Unless otherwise requested, the Paper Giclees are shipped in a tube and the Canvas Giclees are shipped flat because they are dry-mounted on foam core. Framing is available upon request. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Unlike our double matted open edition prints all of the giclee prints are individually made by Stephen Sawyer. All giclee prints are also "signed" or "signed and numbered".
Our giclee prints are made using the highest quality Epson paper or canvas. Our giclees are made on large EPSON printers.
We only use the OEM Epson pigmented inks. The ink and paper are both rated for 100 years
Canvas Giclees
They cost more than Paper Giclees but you can save a great deal of money when framing them. There is no need for matting or glass, just a frame, like the original oil paintings.
Hand Highlighted Canvas Giclees by Mr. Sawyer
Upon your request, Stephen will recreate the textures of the original oil by painting directly on the canvas reproduction.
When properly lit the hand-highlighted portions of the Canvas Giclee add wonderful depth and cast beautiful shadows from the elevated paint. This extra detailing gives your Canvas Giclee the special appearance of being an original.
