My goal for my art is to represent aspects of our relationship with God using children and animals. I have particularly enjoyed using lions as a symbol of Jesus. .

Hi Maryellen,
I am delighted that you are one of the winners. The image of God being a lion is particularly fascinating because we know a lion has ample power to destroy us. Our loving Father has the power to destroy and yet, we who have learned of his true nature, know that He is all about love and protection. Even though the planet is dangerous with tsunamis, earthquakes, and tornadoes, it is the humans who abuse free will that are the most dangerous creature in the universe. Stick close to the Lion of Judah for shelter, comfort, and security.
